Our favorite flower of our 2021 flower trials. These slightly ruffled delicate blooms vary from a haunting grey-purple to a steely blue-grey.

Growing recommendations
These poppies are cool season annuals that are quite delicate and particular. They want cool temperatures to germinate but are susceptible to damp off once germinated, so keep good airflow and increase temperatures if possible (if sown indoor). Transplant when plants have true leaves. Direct seeding is also possible. Space (or thin) plants to 8”-12” apart in full sun.

Alternately, you can choose to pick up your order at the farm in Farrellton, QC.

The trialing allows us to test varieties of a same species side by side and determine which one(s) taste and perform the best.
Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
