Black Magic Poppy is a captivating variety with blooms in deep shades of purple to near-black. Some flowers are single, while others are full and pillowy, resembling peonies. This mix of forms brings an elegant, dramatic touch to gardens and arrangements.

Growing recommendations
Annual. Papaver somniferum. Poppies dislike being transplanted, so it’s best to direct sow them in the garden very early in spring, even before the last frost. Sow outdoors in full sun, spacing plants 8–12 inches apart. Black Magic prefers well-drained soil. Deadhead spent flowers to extend the blooming period.

Alternately, you can choose to pick up your order at the farm in Farrellton, QC.

The trialing allows us to test varieties of a same species side by side and determine which one(s) taste and perform the best.
Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
