Developed by Adaptive Seeds in Oregon, this diverse population of early-maturing butternut squash performs exceptionally well on our farm. Compact, productive plants yield uniform, medium-sized fruits with rich, sweet flesh. We also source this seed from Adaptive Seeds, who continue to steward its development.

Growing recommendations
It’s best to start winter squash inside three weeks before transplanting. Seed two seeds per cell or pot and thin with scissors prior to transplanting. After danger of frost has passed, transplant out two feet apart in rows six feet apart. Handle seedlings as little as possible when transplanting and water thoroughly.
This variety is pledged to the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI), ensuring it remains free for all to grow, share, and improve: You have the freedom to use these OSSI seeds in any way you choose. We're trialing and breeding new varieties!
This is the most challenging and thrilling part of our work.
The trialing allows us to test varieties of a same species side by side and determine which one(s) taste and perform the best.
Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
You're one of a kind
If you're not 100% satisfied with your purchase, let us know and we'll make it right!
But we'd also love to hear from you if you see something wicked cool in your garden or if you know of a variety in need of stewardship.
