Growing recommendations
Start didiscus seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost, then transplant outdoors after the final frost, in full sun. Space plants 8–12 inches apart. Didiscus prefers well-drained soil and moderate watering. Regular deadheading will encourage blooms throughout the summer.

Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
