A spectacular annual with large, densely frilled blooms in deep crimson red. The full, pompom-like flowers add bold texture and rich color to garden borders and flower beds. Growing up to 3 ft tall, Crimson Pompom makes a striking display from early to mid-summer.

Growing recommendations
Annual. Papaver somniferum. Seed directly as soon as soil can be worked. Barely cover seeds. Thin plants 6 to 12” apart.

The trialing allows us to test varieties of a same species side by side and determine which one(s) taste and perform the best.
Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
