Love-Lies-Bleeding amaranth is a stunning plant with long, cascading red flower tassels that add a dramatic touch to the garden. Ideal for borders and floral arrangements, it provides unique texture and color, attracting pollinators. It’s also beautiful in both fresh and dried bouquets.

Growing recommendations
Annual. Direct sow seeds outdoors after the last frost, or start indoors 4–6 weeks before. Plant in full sun, spacing plants 12–18 inches apart. Amaranth tolerates poor soil and requires little watering once established. This easy-care variety blooms throughout summer and into fall.

The trialing allows us to test varieties of a same species side by side and determine which one(s) taste and perform the best.
Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
