Growing recommendations
Annual. Start seeds indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost, or direct sow outdoors after the last frost. Plant in full sun, spacing plants 12 inches apart for good air circulation. Zinnias prefer well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. For continuous blooming, deadhead regularly by removing spent flowers.

The trialing allows us to test varieties of a same species side by side and determine which one(s) taste and perform the best.
Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
