Also known as mouse melons or mexican sour gherkins, these adorable fruits are a delightful snack. They taste like cucumbers, with a fruity tangy aftertaste. The plants look a lot like cucumber plants, though not as sprawly or as productive.

Growing recommendations
Cucamelons can be direct seeded as soon as chance of frost has passed. Or, if you want to be eating from the garden as soon as possible, seed indoors up to 4 weeks before last frost.

This is the most challenging and thrilling part of our work.
The trialing allows us to test varieties of a same species side by side and determine which one(s) taste and perform the best.
Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
