Growing recommendations
Annual. Papaver somniferum. S almon Frills Poppy is a cool-season annual that often self-seeds. For best results, direct sow outdoors in early spring, even before the last frost, as poppies are challenging to transplant. Plant in full sun, spacing plants 8-12 inches apart to ensure good airflow. This poppy prefers well-drained soil and, once established, requires minimal care.

Breeding and variety maintenance means selecting for traits that are desirable such as flavor, texture, disease resitance, earliness and hardiness, just to mention a few.
